Mr. Nelson Kwei, the premier choral director of Singapore. With an international reputation as an acclaimed conductor, conservatorium lecturer, editorial advisor, adjudicator, music arranger, and vocal clinician, Nelson has made significant contributions to the music scene. Nelson’s extensive qualifications include being a Fellow from the London College of Music and an Advanced Post-Graduate in Choral Conducting from the Royal Academy of Music in London. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in choral music, he was specially elected to receive the Associateship from the Royal Academy of Music in 2013. Nelson holds an impressive record in Singapore, having garnered 254 international gold awards and champion titles, an unparalleled achievement.

In 2018, he led The NUSChoir to win the prestigious "Choir Of The World Award – Pavarotti Trophy" in the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, making them the first and only Singapore choir to achieve this honor. 

Furthermore, Nelson has received six individual conductor awards from various countries, including Italy, Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Throughout his career, Nelson has been recognized for his contributions to music and choral arts. He was the first choral scholar in Singapore and received the National Youth Award for Culture. The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry awarded him the "Culture Award" in 1999, and in 2001, the Rotary Club honored him with the title "Ambassador of Music." Currently, Nelson serves as the Artistic Director of the renowned "Singapore Choral Festival," "A Voyage of Songs," "Asia Cantate," and "Jubilate, Festival of Choirs." He is also the Founding Director of the Asian Choral Association and the First Chairman of the Musicians Society in Singapore.
